Gauhati University PG admission Notification will be released on 15th June 2025 at https://admissions.gauhati.ac.in/. The Post Graduate entrance exam for admission to the various PG Programmes of Gauhati University and its affiliated college will be held from 9th to 11th July 2025. The exam will be held in offline mode at various examination centres across the North Eastern States of India as the schedule date. Gauhati University will conducted the Post Graduate Entrance Test (GUPGET-2024) for admission into various post graduate programmes on 9, 10 and 11 July. GU PG Common Entrance Exam Pattern 2025
Gauhati University PG Admission will be as per the performance of candidates in the Entrance Examination. Therefore, it is very much necessary to know the complete exam pattern and syllabus for better performance in the exam.
The university has conduct the PG Entrance exam in offline mode, the exam papers contain 100 Multiple choice questions (MCQs). The exam duration is 2 hours only, in case of wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducte d. The syllabus of GU PG CET 2024.

Eligibility for Non CBCS Students:
Graduation (BA/BSC/BCOM) in 10+2+3 pattern with Major courses in the concerned subject or graduation in 10+2+3 pattern with a general pass course with at minimum 45% Marks in the concerned subject as well as in aggregate CGPA.
45% Marks is to be calculating on the basis of marks gained in Part 1 and Part 2 of the (2+1) pattern and part 1, part 2 and Part 3 of the (1+1+1) pattern is eligible to apply for admission.
However, specific eligibility has fixed by the concerned departments and these are applicable especially for the interdisciplinary /associative subjects.
Eligibility for CBCS Students:
The CBCS students who have a minimum 24 credits in the concerned subject in graduation are eligible to apply for GU PG Admission. There is no requirement of Major in a particular subject.
GU PG Admission 2025 Registration Fee
Candidates need to pay the registration fee online while submitting the GUPGET 2024 online application form. The application fee for one subject is Rs.1000, for two subjects Rs.1500 and for three subjects Rs.2000.
It is suggesting to check the eligibility criteria before proceeding to pay registration fee. As you choose the online payment gateway, there may be mandatory bank charges apart from the application fee, which needs to pay.
