NMMS Scholarship Scheme 2024
The Department of School Education & Literacy has implemented the scheme National Means Cum Merit Scholarship in May 2008 in order to award scholarship to the bright students. The eligible students of class IX, X, XI and XII can apply for National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme for the year 2024-25 before the last date check below. The NMMS Scholarship Exam will be held to select the eligible students. The selected students will get Rs.12000 per annum on monthly basis Rs 1000 Directly to their Bank Account. students should get minimum of 55% marks in Class IX and XI and 60% in Class X in order to continue their scholarship. Eligibility Criteria for NMMS Scholarship Application 2024
The eligibility criteria for National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Scheme for the financial year 2024-2025 are-
- All the students who have 55% marks or equivalent in their class 7 are eligible for appearing in Selection Test for NMMS scholarship award.
- To avail the benefit of this scholarship scheme, students must be a regular student, studying in government, govt-aided and local body school. In addition to this, the parental income of students should not exceed 3.5 lakhs per annum.
- There is a relaxation of 5% marks for ST/SC students in qualifying marks. Apart from this, there is reservation as per the reservation policy of State Government.
- The regular students of Government, Government-aided and local body school are eligible whereas students of KVS,NVS and residential schools are not eligible for NMMS scholarship Scheme.
Benefits of NMMS Scholarship
- NMMS Scholarships are provided to the meritorious students only whose parental income is not exceeded Rs.350,000 annually from all sources.
- Selected students will get Rs.12000 Per annum under NMMS Scholarship Scheme.
- The amount will be provided to the beneficiaries Bank Account every month.
- NMMS Scholarship Amount will be credited Rs.1000 per month.
- To continue scholarship renewal students should not leave their study or not engaged in any job.
- In case any students leave his/her course of study within one month of admission, no scholarship shall be paid to them.
- The candidates must join the next class within 3 months after the announcement of result.

NMMS application form under goes two stage of verification check. The application must be confirmed and verify at Institute level and then at domicile district level. Ministry of Education will disburse the scholarship amount, only if your application is verified and approved by all verification department. In case, a student’s application is rejected due to any reason at any stage. Scholarship amount will not be given to that student.
NMMS Application Form 2024 in offline mode
Students should complete the NMMS Application form whether in offline or online before the last date. The Application process has started for NMMS Scholarship for the eligible students.
- Collect the NMMS application from your relevant school/institutions.
- Applicants should print out of NMMS Application Form 2024 and filled out in capital characters carefully.
- Students can attach the necessary documents along with duly filled application form.
- candidates need to apply for NMMS scholarship 2024 to their institutions after completing the application processes.
- Few days later, the NMMS Scholarship admit card will be available for appearing in NMMS Exam 2024.

How to apply for NMMS Application Form 2024 through NSP?

- An OPT will be received to the registered mobile number and enter the OPT in order to validate mobile number.
- Login to your dashboard and start filling up the NMMS Application Form carefully.
- Upload all necessary documents i.e. photograph, signature, certificates, proof of residency etc.
- Verify and submit the application form and pay the application fee if necessary.
NMMS Scholarship Selection process
The selection of fresh students for National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship will be on the basis of selection list. Each State will conduct of their own test for selection of students for NMMS Scholarship. The NMMS Scholarship Selection test contains two stages-
1.Mental Ability Test (MAT) and
2. Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
- Students must pass both the test such as MAT and SAT with at minimum 40 % marks in aggregate. The cut of marks for ST/SC students is 32.
- The student must have scored at least 55% mark in or equivalent in their Class VIII.
- 50 % marks for SC/ST students in their qualifying exam.
Students who have met the eligibility criteria as mentioned above must pass both the test MAT and SAT with at least 40% marks in aggregate. For Schedule cast and schedule tribe students the Cut of mark is 32 only.
Mental Ability Test (MAT) for NMMS Scholarship
In this section Mental Ability Test (MAT) contains 90 questions whereas all questions are multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Questions in this section is designe d in order to test the verbal and non-verbal meta-cognitive abilities such as reasoning and critical thinking.
Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) for NMMS Scholarship
There 90 questions in this section of Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). All questions will be MCQ types which covers subjects like science, social studies and mathematics as taught in classes VII and VIII.
